how do i install a head unit in a 99 civic?

I'm trying to put a new stereo in my new car, but i cant figure out where i take the outer plastic part off at. Does anybody know where i can find instructions on this?

i did check the owners manual but it didn't mention any dash dissasembly

It would probably be best to contact the car manufacturer - car firms can be surprisingly helpful about these sort of problems. Otherwise see if there is anything in a Haynes Motor Manual for your vehicle - they sometimes cover things left out of the original manual. You should be able to get one through your local library.
