I'm wanting to lose weight, but can't afford to go to a gym or anything. My sister just bought an Ab Lounge XL, but I don't know how much exercise I should do on it a day/week/....whatever. I'm also trying to walk more. (I have my 18-month-old nephew to push in a stroller) to walk with me. I also know that I'm not eating right and I'm trying to change. I've only drank about 6 (20 oz.) carbonated drinks since Jan. 1st. (I used to drink one every day.) Any tips..???..without rude answers, please....

How old are you and what is your weight? You dont have to go to a gym to exercise. As you mentioned walking is good. If you have hand weights use them as well. Typically you want to alternate cardio and strength training to maximize your loss. Plus eating porperly. Instead of carbonated drinks (I figure you mean soda) drink water or carbonated water. Stay away from sugar and sweets. Eat 5-6 small meals per day you should eat every 2-3 hours to keep your metabolism up and your body from thinking it is starving. Lost of fruits and veggies! Hope this helps

I lost 80 lbs about 2 years ago using the Atkins diet and the stairmaster & bicycle. I was working out 6 days a week with just Sundays off. Doing this regimen, I went from the 203 to 118 in about 4 months. Good luck!

To lose weight make sure you are eating a minimum of oils like butter or cooking oil, or fatty meat. None would be best, but a very small amount is not going to hurt noticeably. Try to cut carbohydrates--a minimum of sugar, a minimum of white flour; whole grains are OK. Veggies are excellent. You need protein to keep your cells healthy, so egg white omelets are OK, any lean meat is OK. If you find yourself sitting around watching TV for example, start exercising. Leg lifts, crunches, whatever will burn calories. Are you interested in taking up a sport? That is a fun and easy way to burn off weight, and its good for your cardiovascular system too. Basketball, tennis, volleyball, badminton, so many sports. Running can be good too but get good shoes, never run down hills, never run on concrete, and be sure and both warm up before and cool down afterwards. Yoga is real good, it can bring inner focus and build a very lithe, supple body with great flexibiity. Anyway, try to have fun with however you chose to exercise. Congratulations on your decision for health, and good luck!!
