Unless you're a very strong christian, it's not very bad! At least they don't swear properly! I suppose your Mum is trying to think of you, but my honest opinion is that she's over reacting. If you've offered to skip the track and everything, what's the problem?

Yeah, it's good parenting. However, I understand where you're coming from. How about this, ask her if it is ok to download the songs off the internet, all but that song. This is a good compromise. You are both getting most of what you want. It sounds like her main concern is the one song, so it's not really fair to not let you have the rest of them. This way, all you have to give up is the one song, which isn't much. She gets most of what she wants, and so do you. Anyway, I'm sure you'll hear it on the radio enough.

She's just trying to protect you..Don't bug her about it,let her make her own decisions, but in the meantime,do all your chores without being asked,be helpful around the house, don't fight with your siblings, etc. It sounds like you and your mom have a good relationship, don't make it a big deal if she says no,that way she will know you're mature and will remember that in the future!

I can't say weather that's good parenting or not because my folks never really censored what we watched and listened to. They just made sure that I knew what was acceptible for me to say and do.
You have to respect your mothers wishes while you are young though. When you grow and move out you can hear and say all sorts of swears as long as you don't curse around your parents as a matter of respect for them.

1. Get the edited version
2. Talk to her and let her know that you know it is wrong to swear and it wont influence you at all.
3. Forget about it.
4. Buy the CD, burn it with only the appropriete songs

well, you could do what my mom did a couple years ago. she took the cd and burned it onto another, only without the bad songs. yeah, its good parenting, she's just trying to help, but over-protective could be a problem. So long as she knows ur mature, just have her burn a different copy. hope it helps!

I try not to judge others' parenting skills...but I think that's crazy! You hear worse things on the street these days.
Tell her you can't believe she doesn't trust you.
