In theory, yes. In reality, when a partner lies it's because they don't want to change their current relationship. Like telling the truth and having you kick them out.
When people are unhappy with their partner it is usually just because of one thing. Not because the whole relationship stinks. So why junk the car when you get a flat tire?
That is why partners lie and try to hang on to something they will probably (lying is bad) lose anyway.

yeah, i guess the truth is harder to say and lying is so much easier. telling the truth they feel like they are going to hurt you. not knowing that a lie hurts ever more. but, yeah, its gonna hurt but i rather be told the truth than have someone lie to me.

You only lie when you are not sure whether its right and want to make sure your getting into something better for yourself, so better to keep Ur options open, cruel, selfish and unkind but it's the way it goes,me personally I believe in honesty at all times I only wish the people I have been involved with were the same but they say opposites attract lol

Everything in life would be easier if people done the right thing, but in general most people (myself unfortunatey incl) don't. It is easier on themselves to lie and take the quick fix route of lying than to admit faults of themselves

some people are too cowardly and take what they see as the easy way. Why not just get in first and call it a day. You will still hurt like hell for a while but you will recover and find someone right for you.

People haven't got the guts to say the truth so lying is the easier option. If youve got something to say, say it, dont keep the other hanging on, its not fair.

Ugh, i know what you mean
Sure we all tell little white lies
But the guy i thought loved me turned out to fake the whole relationship. For 2 years.
He lied to me, big time.
Trust is an important element in a relationship. We all know that, it's basic common sence.

Usually because it's easier than explaining the truth, since you will be held accountable for your actions.

Absolutely. some lie to sheild the partner from pain, others because they are just habitual liars, others because they fear losing their partner- but still want to mess around with other people. Either way, its WRONG.
