I am about to upgrade to Microsoft Vista and have two PC's. I am getting conflicting reports that you can only load the software onto one PC at a time and if you attempt to do more than one it will not allow you. Has anyone tried this and if so, what happened?

By the way I am not trying to escape paying twice if I have to but I just want a straight answer. Do I NEED two copies or can I do it with one?

Thanks ;-)

I am still getting conflicting answers. Has anyone actually TRIED this? I know Microsoft have relaxed the upgrade rules but thought you had to uninstall Vista from One PC to reinstall it on another as it won't let you register and therefore would stop working after 28 days.

Yes you can use it more than once, you can use it atleast 5 times but I've also heard that you can use 10 times and also I've heard that microsoft has taken the restrictions off and you acn use it as many times as you want. But you can ceratinly use for more than once.

The answer is yes and no, "Yes" you can install on another PC, but when you get to the part where you have to register your copy then "NO" as once you have registered the first copy the second will be refused automatically by the system, this copy will then stop running after about a month and then your computer is useless, I have already tried this with XP, so I would advise that you do one and leave the other until you can pay a second upgrade.

As with all software it's for one PC, unless you buy the Volume License agreement then you can install on all the computers in the office or home
Use this link to see the rules from Microsoft yourself.

Technically if you buy the standard edition from a store...no its only ment to be used on one computer. As for if you are able to actually install it on two different computers....im not really sure. But, i do know you can purchase versions that will allow you to install it on multiple systems.

as with windows xp, only one copy per pc. otherwise it's piracy. and while vista's security is far more enhanced, you probably wouldn't be able to crack it as easy as xp.
