Try sticking your feet under the edge of a couch, or cabinet or something. Thats what we used to do in Gym class along one of the walls.

Hunny- There aren't very many people that can do sit ups without something to brace their feet down with. No one in my school could. Crunches are better on your back and work your stomach muscles more. Just act like you are going to do a sit up and just lift your head and shoulders off ground while still looking at the ceiling. You get a better work out with less pain.

i think you are trying to use the wrong muscles. With someone holding your feet you were probably pulling against their hands and relying too much on your leg muscles to pull you up. Try folding your arms across your chest, then curl up just a little, tighten your abs, think about pushing your belly button down to the floor. This should get you using the correct muscles. And, exhale as you do the sit up.

you may also want to try doing crunches on an excercise ball. you can buy one for about $15 and the really work well.

Don't give up, once you get the first one done it'll get easier.

I have the same problem; I found out it is much easier when you lay flat on the floor with both feet elevated (with a chair or bed) preferably at a 90 degree angle. You'll be able to do crunches that way

if possible, try doing them on a carpet and push your feet forward so they are notslipping, but so theya re fasenedn on the ground. also, try practicing at home to get the muscles stronger, so it is easier to pull up
