this depends a lot on the type of sword you want. And of course the quality. For a medieval style sword or other non oriental swords try finding a swordsmith in the U.S. If you are looking for an oriental sword (specially japanese) it will be a little harder. The cheapest are probably getting i contact with paul chen or other swordsmiths. You should be able to find several in your search enfine. Good luck.

P.S. if you want a japanese sword, made the traditional way, in Japan, get ready to dish out at least $20,000 dollars and wait about five years.

How much do you plan on spend and how long do you plan on wait?

If you're not ready to sell your sport car and put your house on mortage, don't bother.

Sorry if this is a mean answer, but actually it's incredible expensive plus a LONG wait. It's not uncommon for you to have to wait for 6 months to two years before the maker ever touch your "blueprint".
