I know of a few engaged ladies who asked - so it worked out for them. Just be sure you can handle whatever answer he gives you.

i wouldn't do it, i'm a little old fashoined. Plus, I think that women are sort of groomed for that special day and that's what we look forward to. I think men on the other hand know that they want to get married eventually, but sometimes it takes them a liitle longer to decide to whom, so I would just wait for the dude to do it. Plus, if the guy does it it may mean a little more, and it shows that he's ready for that type of committment. All guys are not this way, but most are.

I did not propose, but I did say at some point - lets get married already; and he said ok! At that point, we had been together for over a year, and I felt it was time to move forward. Four months later, we got married.

I asked my fiance to marry me and he said yes. I think if you both want to get married then it won't matter who asks. People think it was some huge event, but we were just chilling when it happened, hanging out at home. Everyone expected us to get married so nobody thought I was weird for asking a guy.

My mom proposed to my step-dad. We were in England visit his family at the time. We were spending the day in London doing all the touristy stuff. We decided to go on the London Eye, and we we got to the top. My mom propose. She was really quiet about it, none of us knew it happened until right after. It was really sweet though. Everyone thought it was a great idea.

Britney Spears did. I think if you are in love and want to get married, go ahead and ask. Maybe your significant other doesn't know you are ready.

I did this, but I didn't believe him when he said yes... I kept asking lol. It was great! We were just walking down the street, and I said, "You wouldn't marry me if I asked you" and he said he would, so I said, "Fine, Will you marry me?" and he said Yes!

No, but I know of two couple where the man took her last name. One of them even lives in a house with her parents. Yikes.

On my 27th b/day, my 17yr. old g/f gave me an antique gold
pocket watch...Engraved on the watch were my name and her
name....Her name with my surname..
I asked her to marry me about 3 minutes later..
So I guess she kind of asked me first..
We were married about 6 months later after her 18th b/day.
