A Christion missionary told my friend that adultery is not a sin in Chrsitianity. Is there any difference about the topic in different sects?

"Thou shall not commit adultery" - is one of the Ten Commandments that was given to Moses.

Also, the Bible says that "if we even look upon someone as to lust after them we have committed adultery in our hearts with that person".

Yes, pre-marital sex is also a sin.

I'm not sure if I am Christian, but I am spiritual, and believe in the laws of God. While I think that having sex without marriage is a personal choice that should not be taken lightly, I do not perceive it as a sin. However adultery is definitely another matter. This definitely is a sin and an offense against the laws God, the community, and almost all religions of the world. The choice of having sex without marriage involves two people, but where adultery is concerned the choice that these 2 people make to engage in sex, effects and hurts other people - the wife, the children, their marriage, and their futures. Therefore it is selfish, morally wrong, full of lies, deceit, and guilt. So you see there is a valid reason for defining adultery as a sin.

Adultery is definitely sin in Chritianity. We cannot even start arguing about that. The unity between the man and the woman is compared between the unity of Christ and the Church (the Church in general, not a specific denomination). Can you imagine Jesus saying: "I got tired of that Church so I'll just search for another." Jesus died for that Church and there is no way He is leaving it for somebody else. Same is with the Church - as a response to that amazing love. When a man and woman get married, they don't get united only in front of the person authorized to perform the wedding but also in front of God. Adultery is consciously breaking that unity and as such - a grave mistake. So we should really take our marriage vows seriously.

About sex without being married, I don't think there is much difference from adultery. If there was, then people wouldn't get married so they could have sex with whoever they want and as much as they want with the clean conscience that they are not performing a sin. It would be the same to say promiscuity is okay which the Bible never says.

No. Adultery is when you are married and have sex outside of the marriage.
Adultery is a sin in scripture, but forgivable upon repentance.

Also, just as a side-note: some churches will tell you that divorce is a sin; divorce is not a sin - only adultery is.
God does not expect anyone to stay in a marriage if there is abuse, etc. so don't get caught up in that trap. I've seen women stay in a marriage where the husband raped the three daughters over and over for years, and then admitted it, went to jail, and when he got out, this womans priest told her she had to accept him back into the home because she is married to him.
The three daughters were told to leave.
This is not Gods Word - this is the word of some unknowledgable priest who will thankfully be judged by God instead of by me. You don't even want to know what I'd have in store for that priest.
So, if theres been adultery, repent. There is a fresh start, newly forgiven - Thats what the awesome price on the cross bought us. We can be freely forgiven. If anyone ever makes you feel anything other than free in Christ, they are lieing to you.

Adultery is a sin in Christianity and outside of Christianity.
Sex without being married receives a more lenient treatment, especially in Christianity. Other religions are picky on this too.

adultery is listed as a sin, in the Ten Commandments, sex without marriage isnt,,,,,, even though both involve sex, adultery also represents the breaking of vows, and harming of other people, so its in a different category then just having sex

yes, adultery is a sin. Having sex with someone else's spouse is wrong and sinful...and that is adultery. On your other question, do you really think that the lord/God is going to look down upon you on judgement day if you're having pre-marital sex? I think he'll be looking at the things in your life that you've achieved at. and if a child comes out of having pre-marital sex, that is a gift from god.
