Hi, I accidentally went ahead and recorded a video call with Pamela* (version 3.0) before enabling and choosing a compression method! So I have a really large .avi file that I cannot play.

The size isn't a problem as I have a large hard drive, but I'd like to know how I can compress or convert this into something playable.

I should point out that I usually have no trouble playing .avi files with WMP, and have even tried downloading .avi players to no avail.

I have now enabled compression for future calls with Skype/Pamela, but this one is quite important. Is there any way at all I can get to see it?

Thank you

*pamela is a software that allows me to record audio and video calls made with skype.

There are some video splitters on the web you can use. It will break your file down into different parts (Part 1, part 2, etc)

A good program for converting video files is CopyPod - it's free, and can convert from-to many different media formats.

Or you could split the video into different parts by downloading a video splitter, so you could still have it in .avi format but just in smaller-sized pieces.

I would recommend cutting it into 1 GB chunks first. A lot of software don't expect a huge (as in > 2GB) AVI files, even though it's technically legal.

Then try SUPER by eRightSoft.

upload it onto the information superhighway at rapidshare and e-mail it, your chum will manage to receive it.....''loose consumer'' account helps you to upload 400MB at a time. Please be conscious, even as your chum receives your e-mail, tell him/her to click on loose consumer and wait 45secs until eventually eventually the receive hyperlink seems below
