I breeze by quickly while saying excuse me. It's just manners to say excuse me when you do something like that.

I do say excuse me with a low tone of voice. Always. But most people never do that when I browse the shelves at the grocery store. Not fair for me.

As a common curtice you should say something if the space is close. This is a strange situation with life. The other person is the one making the obstacle, and you are usually the one excusing yourself.
Some people seem oblivious to other people around them. They will block half the isle with their cart and then block the other half with themselves. Again we say "excuse me" to get by.

I wish there was a polite way to say get the hell out of the way, you are blocking the whole isle.

Its always best to say excuse. There's nothing more annoying then someone taking away your train of thought? I hate it when people just waltz infront of you...especially when I'm calculating how much a can, of a particular product, is worth as oppose to another can

I say excuse me. I can't speak for the woman who knocked me into a display last week, though.

yes, especially if I have to go by with a cart. I have run into the rude oddity that brushes past with no word but its rare.
