My tv does this as well. But only sometimes. Find the menu on the tv, the one where you turn on captions and default languages and such. One of the options should be channel. The problem you are have is that no channels are programed into the tv. TVs are not smart and automatically know what channels are available. you'll have to set them. Once you find the channel menu, yo can manually add channels or have it search for channels in your area.

This is simple to fix.
Click Menu or Setup on the remote and find the option to do a "Channel Scan" (Antenna or cable - as needed). Wait until it finds all your channels.
Ch+/- goes to the next channel in the TV's channel list, if there is no such a list, it goes to 2

You need to go an Auto Program.
