did you earn any money? such as babysitting for another? cleaning another's house for pay? if you earned money! you can claim the credit, my husband had gotten a weekly paycheck from a previous job, and even though he had not worked it was earned income. if you only had a disability check or other non earned income you cannot qualify. Check with the IRS, but possibly your living expenses that were paid for by your fathers income might count as pay, in some instances room and board are considered as income.

Minister's housing. The rental value of a home or a housing allowance provided to a minister as part of the minister's pay generally is not subject to income tax but is included in net earnings from self-employment. For that reason, it is included in earned income for the EIC (except in certain cases described in Approved Form 4361 or Form 4029, ). See Example 4 in chapter 7.

Question -

who is filing your father's tax return?

www.IRS.gov
Forms, Schedules, Instructions - and search sections.

EARNED INCOME TAX CREDITS - are for earned income - do you realize that if he paid you $10 per week for 52 weeks that would be $520 per year in earned income,
and then you would be entitled to EITC, that would be worth it.

Did you earn anything - as in paid food for you out of his income and such at $10 per week?

What is your age - and were you his dependent?

Check out the qualifications on www.irs.gov

GOD bless us always.
