He is probably one of those who has accepted $10,000 to say so. Any real scientist who has seen the evidence, says it it happening. Only those who are in the pockets of the oil companies are saying otherwise.
But then, there are a lot of people willing to sell out, out there.

Either that, or he has been leaned on by the current US administration, who have changed federally funded scientist's reports to read completely different to what they wrote. (this was in the news this week in the UK as well)
But then, what do you expect from a country that elects someone who says they do not have a reality based administration. What does W mean by that I wonder?

Apologies to your biology teacher but he must be one of the few educated people on the planet still in denial about global warming.
There have been countless reports produced by experts from across the entire scientific spectrum and all conclude that global warming is happening - they may differ when it comes to the causes, effects and extent but the underlying counclusion is unequivocal.
For every one piece of 'evidence' that refutes global warming there must be at the very least 100 pieces of evidence that support it. If he's focusing on such a tiny part of the whole picture then he's being extremely narrow minded.
The IPCC produced a report yesterday which concluded that mankind has caused global warming. The report is the conclusion of the work of 2000 eminent scientists. Unlike certain reports it wasn't backed by anyone, the scientists come from across the globe, they have a wide range of backgrounds and specialist areas so in effect it's the pooling of all the leading authorities on the subject.
The largest and most detailed study into the effects of climate change is the Stern Review.

There a lot of websites that have good information--nasa.gov is one--and most of themedia websites have links to reputable sites.
But I don't suggest you continue the debate. No legitimate scientist--or teacher--pretends tha tglobal warming--or its origin in human activity--is real. Your biology teacher knows this--or should. Those people, teacers or not, who "don't believe" in global warming are not basing their words on evidence--rather its a personal agenda (in some cases even an almost religious) belief.
You should tell your parents about your teacher's misconduct (because that's what it is). I don't doubt you can prove your pointrationally--I know you can. But you are not dealing with a rational person. But steer clear of this (other than letting your parents know). Peoply like your teacher are not trustworthy--and are not above using their position to retaliate if you challenge them. You don't want to get a C if you've earned an A because of this.

No u Loose. Let us look at the problems with the environmental theory. There is the big CO2 problem and God knows we do burn a tremendous amount. The thing that gets me is they don't give plants and photosynthesis any credit for taking care of a very large part of the problem.
Then Methane another big problem ,where is it ,what happened to all that methane .they give all kinds of calculations that is just a lie. Methane is a light gas and will go very high in our atmosphere . If these facts there is no way for a measurement . Where has all the methane gone, their figures are all garbage. If there was a huge amount of methane up there the first missile went through it there would be one big explosion. Again where did it go. This is not science.

I hope your teacher is only saying this so you really think. I hope that being a teacher he isn't that stupid. The world will end as we know it. It has to in order for us to survive we as people have to demand better cleaner renewable energy sources. We have to be no longer dependant on fossil fuels. Once our world governments figure that out there will be little need for war. It is unfortunate that it has to take this catastrophe for people to understand that there are no borders it is one planet and it is getting angry and rebelling at the way it's being treated. We must all work together and change our thinking. The pollution that the plants make in China move across the Pacific into North America. The pollution we make here goes across the Atlantic to Europe. We are killing each other and we have no idea.

theres a graph that shows the increase in mean surface temperature of the earth. the temperature has increased by 0.6 centigrade since the industrial revolution 1870 i think. and 0.4 of this increase happened since 1970. it does not sound like much of an increase but if you can get hold of this graph on the Internet you ll see that the temperature has not changed at this rate for 11,000 years.

That's the point no one can prove either side, sorry there just isn't any proof other then a computer module that is made by humans.
And you saying he thinks it isn't happing do you mean he thinks its not caused by humans or the world is not warming there is a big difference

After the ICPP report that came out in Paris this week it would seem to be very hard for anyone to deny that climate change is happening http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenews.aspx?type=worldNews&storyID=2007-02-02T153338Z_01_L01878807_RTRUKOC_0_UK-GLOBALWARMING.xml&WTmodLoc=NewsLanding-C4-World-3

Certain gases don't let the heat escape from the Earth's surface. It's like putting on an extra blanket or an extra sweater. If you put on a sweater, the sweater does not actually make any heat. It just makes it so that the heat from your body does not escape as easily.
Millions of tons of crap DAILY into the atmosphere is nothing to sneeze at. Pun intended.
We are screwing ourselves over for a buck.
Shooting ourselves in the herd.
Stepping on our own ducks.
Cutting off our nose to spite our finch.
Kicking ourselves in the asparagus beetle.
For the almighty dollar we're ruining it for everybody and everything, and people who deny it are three fries short of a Happy Meal.
Have a nice day.
