I would suggest checking out http://forums.nicoclub.com for more information. The Murono is basically a cross over of the Nissan Altima. I don't know any systemic problems with the automatic transmissions.

Electronic throttle issues (when it goes bad the car will only do 30mph), revolution sensor issues (transmission speed sensor - when it goes bad the car will only do 30mph), Check engine light for CAN communication (bad grounds in the vehicle wiring that must be re-tightened - not really a driveability issues), used of the right size oil filter (some vehicles experience more vibration than normal when a smaller oil filter is used), engine is prone to oil sludge (valve covers were not properly made on those years) - those are the most common issues. Other than that it's a nice car to drive. You just have to get used to how the CVT transmission "feels". Many people mistake the lack of shift shock for low power, but the car in reality is only 1 second slower on 0 - 60 time than a comparable SUV with a normal transmission (Lexus RX 330). I suggest you rent one for a week and see how you like it.

i own a repair shop, and the only issues i have seen so far with them at all was with the transmission not shifting right, and a few complaints of the heaters not working right but you,ll get that with just about any vehicle you buy these days, are far as major problems they all seem to be doing fine right now, just keep the maintenance up on it ,and it should last you a long time, their good vehicles and will give as good of service as anything else will, good luck i hope this help,s.

As with any vehicle there are a few issues, that should be addressed, and when corrected are fine...
What is a concern that is kinda unique to the Murano is the CVT... a Nissan factory extended warranty may be a good investment
