Wouldn't try it. Scotch has that peat taste; rum is make from sugar. Better to try a American whiskey or a sweet liquor.

Absolutely Not. You may want to try some wine or sherry, but positively not Scotch. You can get some cheap rum at the liquor store....cheap liquor for cooking, expensive liquor for drinking. Thats my policy

The rum is for flavoring not alcohol content.
The flavor will be different.
