I think instant are in small packets and have brown sugar or Cinnamon in..quick cooking oats just cook in about one and one half minures in the micro wave or stove top.

The real difference is that there isnt a 'real' difference. The only thing different is how the oats are processed. The instant oats are steamed, cuts into thirds, steamed again and rolled; so you can hot water and you have instant oatmeal.
Quick cooking oats are oats that have been steamed, rolled and cut into about thirds as well.

I really don't think there is much of a difference. but instant you just add hot water to it. and the quick cooking oats you let the water boil before you put the oats in.

Instant oats are those yukky things you put in the microwave....quick cooking cooks in 1 minute but you have to let it set for a few mintues off the heat to finish cooking. I like the quick cook oats better!

with instant oats= you burn less calories. because you just pour hot water on your oats.

quick cooking oats= you spend more energy trying to look for the pot, heating the water, stirring the oats til it thickens. so i think this will make you thinner/ slimmer.
