At least lock up the rifle case and keep them away from Dad's magazines...sheesh.

I think it's ridiculous and cruel to expect that.

I was a pastor's daughter growing up, and I was taught that masturbation and even kissing before marriage was wrong. Apparently, we are never to tough ourselves.

As a result of that, I've had to completely re-think everything, and undergo a huge process of all sorts of things.

Anxiety is the least, considering it's basic human nature.

But it appears more people are into denial than anything else, denying that it happens, denying that their teens have sex, and in the end, doing more harm than good by refusing to educate them properly in how to take care of themselves so they do not contract social disease or become unintentionally pregnant.

The same kind of denial also leads to improper instruction regarding health maintenance, for cancer screening, disease testing, and in the long run, can do more harm than good for their kids.

Education is the only tool we have at our disposal. Teach your kids that, yes, they should not have premarital sex, but there are things that should be done in the event they fail at that. Proper health care should be taught our kids.

And we all fail at something, don't we? After all, we are only human. And they are our kids. They will make mistakes. Teach them how to survive. And love them for it.

It's like alcoholism: some teens can see the spirit behind the action and walk away. Others will feel the excitement and rush in. Fact is, like alcoholism, the good effects come first and the bad effects come later. Most teens that indulge in anything will end up with fear, guilt and anxiety as adults, and pay a sad price. If the pain of their existence wakes them up and they can be honest with themselves, they will tell you "I wish I hadn't"

It really is a matter of what you want to feel bad about: denying your ego gratifications, or having a guilt ridden and sometimes addictive adult life.

I think it's unfair to not even allow them to touch themselves as a release, and it's probably a psychological game to make them feel like horrible sinners who need God *all the time.* I was there; it made me feel guilty, and I'm glad my mom gave me some balance and told me it was normal and healthy and better than involving someone else. Some pastors feel the same way, too.

Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Romans 13:13-14

Sex is for marriage, be tween a man and a woman anything out side of that is sexual immorality. You need to lerner to have self control over you body.

I can understand the anxiety surrounding your teen having sex. But what's wrong with masterbation? It's harmless, feels good and keeps the libido at bay.

Its ok to touch yourself. If you have premarital sex with a willing partner it is nobodies business but your own. But be damn sure you use a rubber. Otherwise you could regret it the rest of your life.

Lots of teens can get by just fine without those things, especially if they are in a town where everyone does the same. Its not that they dont desire touch/sex but they believe that its worth the wait

I think it is unrealistic to tell them not to touch themselves but I am sure they can be guided away from fornication.

Not just Christians, Sam. There is no widely recognized religion that encourages masturbation or permits premarital sex. There is no government that legalizes pedophilia. Maybe there is a reason why. Maybe you're just not mature enough to understand it.
