the Lutheran church is very close to the Catholic church, but the closest is the Episcopalian.

There are a lot of similarities between the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutherans, Orthodox and Anglicans. I would probably say that the closest denomination to the Roman Catholic Church is probably the Orthodox Church.
This coming from a Lutheran.

Martin Luther was a Catholic Priest when he wrote many treatises and statements against the church as they were buying/selling pardons....and saw that the relationship one had with Jesus, and his sacrifice was what redeemed our sins. In this central area, is where the division began between the catholic church, and led to the eventual separation from the Lutheran church. There are many similar though: episcopalian churches have a strong historical background with Catholicism, and many, many post reformation church groups formed in response to catholic doctrine and practice....

Not sure but I can tell you the Roman church is not Gods church.I HAd done some research and they seem to have changed to a pagan church.Like the statues and all that but how bout you research the 666 and the catholic church.

Within Protestantism: Yes, it is closest in its liturgy for instance.
But there are renegade Catholic Churches (the Old Dutch Catholic Church for instance) that consider themselves Catholic - but aren't accepted by Rome.

For the Roman Catholic Church all form of protestantism are considered heretic therefore none cans be called "close".

No, the Orthodox Churches are closest, simply because they have a valid priesthood and all the valid sacraments, and share doctrinally the same beliefs, except for some "minor" differences.
For a Protestant denomination, I would say that the Epicopal would be closest in beliefs.

They seem to be, I grew up in one. They dont pray to Mary. They do communion, it didn't used to be Jesus cookies, not sure anymore. I think they are merging more and more. There is no pope, the preacher isn't infalible. they dont confess sins to the preacher. They dont have pergatory(I dont know if catholics do or not). Any more questions, I'll check back later.
