Isn't that the norm?

Not physically.

Its purely spiritual and the equivalent of the forehead chakra where the energy associated with seing beyond the human eyes is associated.

Its color is purple/violet

The following meditation helps open this chakra for better intuition:

Sit in a quiet place, and imagine your whole body turn into a crystal glass piece. Everytime you inhale, imagine the light entering your forehead instead of your nose. The light enters the forehead, fills in your entire being, and comes out of your mouth. Continue doing this for a good 5-8 minutes and then imagine the air leaving your body through all your cells, like permeation.

Keep at this for a good 10 minutes.

Practice doing this and youll feel a tingly sensation around your forehead. This is a sign that your chakra has been unclogged and is functioning properly.

It's usually considered that the chakra on the forehead is the third eye. It's related to clairvoyance, if highly developed and purified.

The pineal body is a gland buried deep in the brain. It is associated with diurnal rhythm. In some reptiles, it is located at the edge of their much thinner skulls and it has photoreceptors.
