Hi. The other night I suddenly became conscious during my dream and was aware of being touched all over my body by things that I couldn't see, I was only aware of the feeling. My body was paralyzed and I was terrified, I had to fight and claw myself back up into wakefulness. Does this sound like a dream? How could I be conscious whilst it was going on? Thanks. I was really frightened.

this is sleep paralysis sweetie
it is a common occurence with about 40 % of the population , although some may only experience it in a mild form
what happens is that at the point of dream sleep our body secretes hormones so that we dont act out our dreams
if we wake before it has worn off or it takes effect before we fall asleep , then this can be quite frightening
it is usually accompanied with something called hypnagogic state
which is like waking dreams
and people report feeling a presence with them , someone sitting on them , hearing noises etc
please check it out , it will help put your fears to rest xx

I {know} your sweet and terrifying dream. It has happened to my body too, a mystical force so powerful that it {awakens} the soul by making the body numb and frozen. I would say that you have been visited by extraordinary entites of unknown depts. They were feeling your body for the first time as if you were a strange animal or a new born creature with a special birth mark. If you want my advice, keep this experience open in your mind and do not let it make you afraid because now, you have come closer to the beautiful {truth}

You may have had what is called "night paralysis" where you are semi-conscious but your body is not able to respond to your brain wanting it to move. I used to have that happen when I was little around 8 yrs old. It was a very frightening feeling.

This happens to me also. Although not exactly the same thing. Its like I can feel stuff and will be conscious of it. It is only a dream after all. nothing to be worried/afraid of. It's perfectly alright.

Sometimes a person's mind will 'wake up' before the body. I think it's called sleep paralysis, and yes, it is very scary when it happens. Lots of people experience this.
