I am watching one of his videos right now. I do not wish to sound insulting, but I find this person to be very pompous. I thought I would try to see things from a Creationist view but I can not help but think that Mr. Hovind is quite unstable of a character. He seems more interested in mocking other Scientist than he is in explaining his theories, it seems as though he feels he receives more credit through his audience through belittling several fields of science than actually providing worthwhile information.

I will not say he is a liar, as it is evident he believes what he is saying, but clearly he has not researched a variety of sciences prior to preparing this lecture.

The video I am watching is here, I have only watched 20 mins so far but it is horrendous.

Again, I started watching this video with an open mind. It was not my goal to come to Y!A and ask this before I started viewing this video

He's a charlatan and a con artist with no scientific credentials and a checkered past.

I will say he is a liar - On November 2, 2006, Hovind was found guilty by a jury in a Pensacola, Florida federal court of fifty-eight federal tax and tax-related offenses; his wife, Jo, was also convicted on 44 counts. On January 19, 2007, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, three years of probation after his sentence is served, and $640,000 in restitution. He had been previously ordered to forfeit $430,400 and faced a maximum of 288 years in prison.

This page debunks all of his pretend-science:

Even some of his fellow creationists find him to be too "crazy"... i mean, he basically believes that a giant ice meteor crashed to earth couple thousand years ago creating the polar caps and that grand caynon is the result of a global flood...

He doesn't stand up well to logical scrutiny nor to a really good interview by a good reporter. He's been shown to be so heavily biased in his opinions that I don't even give his theories the time of day. He lacks the scientific impartiality in his ENTIRE approach.

Not really.
Some of the stuff he says is interesting, but he himself is kind of shady.

Don't worry. He is a liar, and is in jail for tax fraud.
