I know that you say you don't want to change your self but If you are not having the sucess in life that you want then you should ask your self what you REALLY want in life. I think it is ok to express your self in dress and appearance but I think most people who dress in certain ways are expressing the idea that they want to be recongnized for who they are and do not wish to confrom to what society says they should be. It is completly understanable that societies rules are shallow but you really need to focus on who you really are and what defines you down deep. It is no less shallow for a girl to wear make up and dress preppy than it is to wear all black because clothes do not make the person they are an experssion of what is going on inside. Before you find the right guy, make sure you are the right girl. Mature guys will go for deeper things. You learn to like yourself and maybe get a mentor to help you and I guarentee you will be on the right track to finding a great guy who will love you inside. Who knows you may even like other colors in your wardrobe that you would never wear right now because of anger about conformity. And don't let other girls make you feel sad, listen to the ones who will build you up not tear you down...best wishes

I think you should just be yourself. But in my opinion you should wear a little dark eye shadow and mascara but nothing more. you don't want people thinking you are a tramp. But thas just my opinion.
