Since you're getting married a year away, you should send out "save the date" magnets. Since it's so far in advance, they have enough notice to not plan something else that day.
Congrats!

You can get just about anything you want personalised from spirit miniatures to photo frames, to chocolates with your photo on, and confettit with your initials. I'm getting married in August, and we're going for the no favour option, we've been to plenty of weddings between us and never actually recieved favours- once you;ve added them up, if you've a lot of guests, it's a signiificant amount of money which could be more wisely spent elsewhere- not that much wedding spending is wise!! Check out confetti.co.uk or hitched.com for ideas, but I tend to think the personalised favours look a little tacky and would have a little giggle if I ever went to a wedding where they did that- sorry. I have seen suggestions of a planted bulb or something, which is nice for a spring wedding, if you are having a small and personal wedding you could pick things that are imdividually chosen- and thus appreciated, but for a large wedding, it's best just not to worry to much, as you will find it difficult to choose something that pleases even 50% of the people there, unless it's edible.

You're looking for favor ideas. I've been to dozens of weddings over the years, and I can tell you from personal experience, that the personalized bookmarks, shot glasses, votive candles, mix CD's, etc., etc., etc., all went in the trash as soon as I got home. Not that I didn't appreciate the gesture, but stuff like that is plain clutter to me, and I have enough of my own clutter laying around my house. I always felt badly too, because I knew the bride and groom had spent their money and time putting the little favor together, but not bad enough to have it laying around my house. The favors that I didn't toss were the ones I consumed. One wedding handed out Krispy Kreme donuts (still my favorite!), another had a candy bar where you filled small bags with candies that were all the wedding colors, you can order wrappers for Hershey bars that will have the wedding stuff on them, you can even get personalized M&M's. I also saw on one of the wedding shows the guests each got a bottle of water that they had replaced the labels on, and gave them those at the beginning of the outdoor ceremony in the summer. I would just make sure whatever you give, you make it consumable, that way people won't throw it away, and you won't feel like you've wasted money. Congrats and good luck!

You have been given numerous ideas but have to agree about these things lying around everywhere and eventually binned. It is a nice gesture and if edible think goes down better. Other thing could be Lush soap, cut and wrapped in cellophane. However, make sure your guests know what it is as some times it looks like edible nougat!!! In my family we also give to the males but that is not something really necessary. We just stick to little minitures of Scotch whisky. You can get nice Malts in the tubes or if normal minitures a little bit of tartan ribbon round the neck adds to it (you'll realise I'm Scottish) and up to yourself if you want the expense of little hanging printed labels with perhaps your initials and wedding date. Again not much good if you are from a non drinking family or religion.

Im a Photographer, I live in Greece, the greeks do this at every wedding they wrap almonds in nice netting and attatch a small gift to the side.Maybe a keyring or a little ornament.
I have also on many occasions made photocards with a picture of the bride and groom on their wedding day which they then send to all the guests thanking them for attending and their gifts. I think this is a really nice touch.
Congrats on your wedding, I hope you have a special time.

A wedding CD with your pic on the cover and a collection of the bride and groom's favorite songs- you can also include special songs of the bridal party and parents. This gift is not too expensive- just takes some time to burn each CD. I think it's very personal b/c you are sharing your special songs with your guests. You can also write a thank you note on the inside or back cover thanking them for sharing your special day. And, you can also put the seating assigment on the cover - so people have to take the CD before they are seated. We did this at our wedding and it worked really nicely and we got many compliments on it from our guests.

i got married in October last year and i wanted something different on the table for our guests and we got little cards made with our names and date on the front of them then inside them there was a £1 lotto ticket inside them, our guests were really amused as it was something other than the normal, good luck on your wedding day and the best of luck to you both xx

How about a photo of you and your husband. You can put a message on it saying Thank you for helping us enjoy this special day. My friend did this. Took photo on day on mobile then had some printed off for guests. You could put disposable cameras on each table for them to use to take their own pictures of the event.

No need to give a gift - the order of service with your names on is enough.
Save the money you would spend on this and put it towards something you both need for your new life together.
