its FINE to spoil your dog JUST DO NOT let him be the boss in YOUR home and make sure you train him properly, you do not want him to think he is the dominate one in your house hold!!! once you have your rules set on what he can and cant do and he LISTENS to your dont's and do's then you can spoil him rotten!!! =)
i loveee spoiling my puppy but he Knows what not to do and Knows I'm the boss in the house.
Coby (my puppy) has his own couch, his own bed (witch he loves more than my bed...), a LOT of toy and i mean A LOT witch i let him pick out, i bake his treats for him i learned in a nice Lil treat for puppies cook book, and he can go outside when ever he wants (through the doggie door a big fenced area) outside we have an obstacle court for him HE LOVES IT! however Coby knows the basics training :
heel and sit
stay
down
come when called
if your dog dose this :
does not come when called „
jumps up on people
is stubborn
takes you for a walk
misbehaves in public
then you need to correct him..asap.. (some people actually think correcting there dog is being "mean" but it helps you both out helps him to stay out of danger and helps you to gain more trust and continue to spoil him/her)

It really depends how your spoiling. If you spoil by giving into what ever your dog wants when s/he wants it then you now created a leader of a pack and it's not you. If you mean when you go out you bring home toys and spend lots of time on walks then that's great. To many treats is no good for your dogs health either is people food, this makes your dog happy sure but you are making an unhealthy dog. Loving your dog and spoiling are 2 different things.

well my dogs are spoiled. completly spoiled, i dont understand how this is even close to cruel, i mean my dogs are happy, all the time, except when i make them take a bath..... they love me and i show them the affection and love that they love me. my dogs are my kids since i havent gotten that far in life, they get christmas presents and there own bed, but as far as cruel..... they are not outside in the rain heat or cold. they always have food water and exercise,,,,, and most important attention and love. sometimes i ride up the highway and back jsut cause they want a ride, with all the love they give to me, it is the least i can do, they are ALWAYS there for me... no questions asked, no matter what time of day no matter what im wearing or doing, they are my babies.

Is it right or wrong to spoil your children? A pet is just as much a responsibility as a child. They also have individual personalities. So as in children, every family is different and what is spoiling to one person could be normal to another.

Dogs need three things in life: Discipline, food and then love. A dog who is spoiled will think that IT is in charge instead of you and is more likely to behave badly because it has no repsect for you.

I guess it depends on the dog. I can spoil my dog
to death and he's always very obedient.
(Full Blooded Collie) I've had some that if you
give them an inch, they'll take a mile.

Is it right or wrong to spoil your kids? Everyone will have a different answer to your question. There is no right or wrong answer. What there is, and should be implemented is MODERATION. Debi
