The girl and I are very different. Relationship possible?

I'm an Asian male. 18. College Freshman. I feel strongly attracted to this classy, pretty, and smart Caucasian girl in my English class. She is a liberal person, seems to be very into European culture, listens to Electronica, and smokes cigarettes. She looks somewhat attracted to me; she looks at me quite often. I notice her frequent look at me, and so does a confidant of mine. Anyway, I wonder what she'll think about me. I'm a very regimented person who listens to urban music most of the time, studies all day, finishes off the day with an intense 2-hour workout, doesn't smoke or drink. As you can see, we are so different that I wonder if I have a chance with her. One thing that makes me hopeful, though, is that she's got the yellow fever. LOL. She's in a facebook group called "We love asian boys." Does a relationship seem possible although we are different? What do female smokers think about dudes who don't smoke? Do they ridicule non-smokers or do they respect them or neither?

You probably could have a relationship, but think about this rationally... are you really going to have anything in common? Anything to talk about? Anything to do together? Opposites attract, but rarely do they stay attracted -- they normally get bored or annoyed with each other fairly quickly.

Anything is possible. If smoking is the issue, then be up front, and ask her to quit. It would be better for her anyways. Opposites attract. No one would ridicule a non smoker. In fact I think it is the other way. Smokers are banned from alot these days, and have to stand outside in the cold for a puff. If she loves Asian men, then why are you asking the question.

Oh yes its definitely possible.. But do you really want to go through that much trouble for a girl (or four)?? Not to mention how hurt they would be when they found out about each other and all your lies.. Believe me, you could only juggle four of them for so long before you slip up and they catch you.. Id say go for one at a time, if you cant respect the Muslim girls religion, then dont even take that path.. Your ex is old news, if it doesnt work out the first time then there is a high chance it wont work out anytime after that.. Try one of the other girls.. And be nice! Dont lie, and dont try to get into their pants until the time is right

What attracted me to this guy that I know is that we are different. If we are the same than life would be boring. I do not smoke and he does but that does not mean that I don't love him any less. What count's to me is what is on the inside. His personality. That is what all that should count to you and that girl. Are you nice? Goodlookin, have nice manners? and know how to treat a woman? Those are the things that counts. No we do not ridicule non-smokers as well as smokers. They are people too.

Just remember opposites attract. If she is in the group we love asian boys than you can bet she is very attracted to you or she would not be preocupied with looking at you. Don't worry about the smoking, chances are she will appreciate you for your healthy outlook on life and you will probably have a positive infuence on her. Go for it. Take care Heather

Hey! I don't know about the deal with "Opposites attract", But, sometimes in a relationship, the differences can offset the other, I mean, if there is attraction between the 2 of you, your differences can be an asset!

I'm a smoker, and the thing that really matters is respect. Not in every relationship do both smoke or not smoke. Besides if you remember his or her feelings. Buy breath mints,wash hands, and face after a cig, and don't smoke in closed places so it doesn't bother the one your with.
