im not exactly sure what you are looking for...however. i have a panasonic lumix fz5 they have come out with several models since but they are all great! this camera takes better pictures than my father in laws $3000 camera! anyways, if you are looking for something that can go in your purse though, look at sony cybershots and also panasonic smaller cameras! GOOD LUCK and enjoy, phtography is a wonderful and fun art!

I am not sure by what you mean by warm and inviting.

The flash makes harsh lighting, so maybe you are too close with your flash? You need a camera with better performance in higher ISO settings so you won't need to use the flash as often.

Maybe your white balance is set for tungsten, That would make your pictures blue in cast unless you are shooting in tungsten lighting. The shade setting on the WB makes colors warmer.

Maybe your camera model or printer kiosk has an aggressive sharpening control.

It's really hard to pinpoint what the problem is without seeing some pictures that you're unhappy with. Light is the key to every image, maybe you're not looking hard enough for good lighting to accomplish your warm, inviting look. Pick out some images you like from a magazine or Internet, and study them. Look at where the light is coming from, and how the subjects are composed. Imagine how you can achieve a similar look, and then practice with the camera you have. You may need a better camera, you didn't mention what you have so I can't offer advice.

Just practice, and good luck!
