Are you talking about a person from England? We all have accents from the different parts of the country that we come from and also there are some that have accents in the same area. If the English speaking person was taught French by a French person, there should be no accent, if not I am assuming there would be an English accent.

I've found that it depends on the person and for how long they've studied the language. When I studied beginner's French at my local adult college (because I wasn't allowed to do GCSEs in both French and German at school), I noticed that many of my classmates said the words correctly but in their usual strong Essex accents. Also, my friend who studied German with me at university spent her year abroad in Germany and came back speaking it fluently in a very strong Essex accent! In contrast, I can hear my accent change when I speak French, German and Spanish. This finding was confirmed after my first French and Spanish classes when both my French and Spanish teachers told me that I had a very good accent and that I should have no trouble learning the languages. Both were right (well, I do have some problems, but I've learned both very quickly)! I don't know if this is because I have an ear for music!

Yes of course, as with any other language, and some people have more pronounced accents than others, and the french find and english accent as amusing as the english find french accents.

As maximum Brits do not positioned any attempt into speaking French with a French accent (imagine Del Boy!), I reckon it should be an similar as an English-speaker attempting to decypher what a can't-be-afflicted Frenchman/lady says in English (in retaining with my reviews with French funds airline workers in Paris) - only about completely incomprehensible. I doubt they locate it in any respect "romantique", considering maximum Francophones have dealt with me like an fool once i have uttered a note of French.... no matter if that would also be depending on the concept British = speaks no French previous "Bon-jewer" and "Mursee". i'd under no circumstances describe my French as 'sturdy', even though it isn't SO undesirable! i comprehend it truly is transferring remote out of your question somewhat, yet I have a chum at college interior the united kingdom who's German and may realize some accents (English, American, Australian; Geordie, London) yet no longer others (Scouse, Irish, Scottish). i imagine it only relies upon on the fellow and their element of English. My German chum has lived interior the united kingdom for further or less 4 years now.

Naturally. A person born and raised in England who spoke only English until he was mature will have an English accent no matter which foreign language he speaks.

Any other language that you're going to speak is going to have an accent to the people that speak that language. I've met people from other countries that have no accents, only because they've worked on it.

Yes, but a lot of it will also depend on who taught you. I learned German from a French woman and have a French/American accent when I speak German. The Germans think it is cute.
