Might just be a cyst or similar, but due to age and breed I would have it checked out asap. My neighbor was a breeder of these dogs and had some that had cancer problems. Don't mean to scare you, but better safe than sorry. Good luck.

With anything of this nature the only person who can tell you for certain is a vet,a lump can be something serious and it's just not worth the risk trying to diagnose the problem yourself. The lump could be an abscess or even cancer. Either way the sooner the vet sees it the better.

Hi there,
I had a German shephard, who had the same problem. It started out as a little "pimple" with grease in it. Something like an ingrown hair. I squeezed it and it just grew over the period of time, until the vet had to finally remove a lump the size of a golf ball. I guess, you should better have a professional look at it.

Hi
Your bound to worry, but goto the vet to put your mind at rest.
My dog is poorly this week she had to have surgery the other day. While she was there the vet felt a lump. he stuck a needle in and drained off some fluid - now its gone and nothing to worry about.
good luck and don't worry.

Take him to the vet. It could be something like a benine lump, puppies can get growth lumps. You need to get it checked out and removed if necessary.

YES! Take it to the vet ASAP! If it's not anything serious then you won't have any worries. If it is then you can take care of it before it gets too bad.....
Good Luck!
