is there any store bought hair color that i can purchase that will take all the way?

You could take the risk & buy a very light shade. The final result wouldn't be the shade itself, instead it'll give you a totally different combination. Ofcourse if you want to alter the color completely into a light shade, you'll need to get it professionally done. They bleach the hair to lighten the hair color, before applying the dye.
