All local authorities have specilaist Social Work teams for children with Special Needs. They can refer onto the Occupational Therapy services, Staying Put schemes (help wth the actual building/grants etc)
Also contact the local support group for your childs specific disability...........
The school may have physios, OT's , wheel chair clinincs etc too.
Look on the web for the DDA - Disability Discrimination Act plus the Childrens Act will cover your child too
Thought about a Carers Assessment for yourself and/or your family? There will be local Carers groups in your area
Checked out about the DLA - Disabled Living Allowance and Carers Allowance ?
"Thrive" is a national charity that may be able to help re the actual garden.
Good luck

When I got so bad I needed a wheelchair I phoned the local social services who came out and assessed me. If they have the money available they will help in lots of ways including access. Not sure about extending the house but they may help with alterations to make it easier for your daughter to get around.
Failing that could you get some phone numbers for local charities that deal with your daughters specific problems, they might have funds specifically for such events.
I hope you get things sorted.

I would think social services first then depending on the nature of disability, perhaps a search of support groups in the area, because dealing with people who are the same situation as you could be more productive. Good luck

Social Services can help put you in touch with the people you are looking for. They supplied all kinds of special equipment for me and brought in a firm who advised, designed, tendered for and supervised alterations needed. The firm were called Anchor Staying Put and they are there to ensure you don't need to leave your home because of disability. They even helped fill in grant request forms.

I know of an organization in my area by the name of L.I.F.E. This stands for LIVING INDEPENDANT FOR EVERYONE. I believe there are facilities such as this everywhere. You may go to your City Hall or ask your Mayor about organizations who assists with utility bills or research your area for brain and spinal cord injury victims, or talk to a neurologists. You may find additional contacts to obtain the assistance you require.
