What do you expect when we have a total liar and idiot for president who is intentionally misleading the country so that the rich can continue to get richer at the expense of everyone else?

We aren't. We just look at history and see that the earth has been through cycles of being totally frozen to being warm from pole to pole without human help. Therefore many of us don't totally believe the gloom and doom prophets. There are scientists out there who also feel this way. There is a good bit of scientific evidence that the warm ocean currents flowing northward tend to cause polar ice melting until a certain point is reached. Then the currents reverse and we start into an ice age scenario. The scientific community has not produced proof positive in either direction. It is all speculation and theory.

Americans care just as much as anyone, remember it was not only americans that cause global warming but all mankind. As for doing things we are trying, we do research , we are looking for alternative energy sources. If you read the news the scientists say there isnt much man can do to immediately change it, but it will take long term changes.

Nice generalization from people who attempted to conquer the world, but now we're the bad guys.

Let me clue you in on something: Energy consumption will always be higher in the US for two main reasons:

1) Our climate is much more extreme than most of Europe ever sees. The ocean currents that keep Europe warm in the winter and cool in the summer have the opposite effect here.
2) We all don't live on top of each other. Our population is barely 300 million with over 3.5 million square miles of land (about 80 people per square mile), whereas Europe crams twice that many into a smaller space. Thus our transportation needs are different, making mass transit inconceivable in many areas outside the Boston-Washington megalopolis.

But don't fret, as we've done before, we'll pull your asses out of the fire again by spending the research money you don't have, applying the brains you don't have, and using the massive fields of grain products you don't have to produce renewable fuels.

Because they are not in the danger zone. They will continue to do things that would potentially increase the rate of Globar Waming, but they are not the ones who will be the victim of it. It's the least developed countrys of Asia and Africa who will be affected by the Global Warming. It's the poor people who will lose everything,so why would the Americans care??

Most of the population goes on and on about it because they have been lied to by the "scientists" who just want a bigger government paycheck.
In the 1970's they were all screaming that we were going into an ice age. Most Americans are like lemmings they will run after anything in front of them without thinking about the truth at all.

mustanger, I cannot believe you would say there is no proof either way, when only yesterday, the IPCC released their official report giving a 90% probability that humans are the primary cause of global warming....this research was carried out for 6 years and included many many scientists from all over the world

even when proof is there, people are still in denial!

Blinkered by it?? Yet America spends the most money in research for cleaner reusable fuels, cleaner running factories, cleaner running vehicles. While the rest of the world sits back and puts it on our shoulders... If it wouldn't be for us caring we woudln't but the billion's that other countries do not put in research and development.

Many politicians are "financed" by the industry and the industry doesn't wan't any laws to protect the environment because that would cost them money. Of course that is just one of many reasons. Another one is that most politicians are idiots and egoistic.
