I plan to get married on the beach in Myrtle Beach, SC. I have gotten information from several chapels in the area. Does anyone have any personal experience or opinions on wedding chapels that perform beach services in that area? Or beach weddings in general? It's going to be a very simple, very small service if that helps any...

I live in Myrtle Beach and I just don't think its a romantic place. Its too commercial. Too touristy. Try Hilton Head or something.

I'm planning on getting married at Myrtle Beach too. I'm just having a simple beach wedding. There are a few websites to help w/ the chapel and all. It may be a bit too commercial, but I love it. I visit there a few time a year. It can be romantic if you make it. I plan on getting married on Sept. 29 of this year. I'm sure anything there will be really nice.

I hate to tell you cause i want it to always be just mine but i know there have been tons of wedding there. I went up to Kure Beach (at Fort Fisher) there are two gazbeo's right on the beach that u can rent by the hour. Big enough to hold you and a few guest ( I had about twenty) and that way if it rains you still have your beach wedding. We had guest coming in from IN and AZ so we had to do hotels and their are cheap (but nice enough) hotels about two or three miles up the road from the site. And the pictures from fort fisher are beatiful because there is a great beach, rockss and then the gazebo. I can even recommend a photographer from there that will do an excellent job for cheap because u know me and i was his first wedding (almost a year ago, he's done several since then). If you want to see my pictures and have a myspace account www.myspace.com/airbornebaby look in my pictures u won't be disappointed and if you have any questions, plz email me. I'll help you all I can. I wouldn't recommend mrytle beach for a beach wedding it's too crowed if you want a simple wedding, if your set on having in in sc go to north mrytle or pauley's island. Pauley's island has some private and semi-private beaches so it would be just yours for the wedding. Good Luck, I wish you and yours the very best of luck.

I agree, Myrtle Beach is too busy and not as romatic and relaxing as they want you to believe. Hilton Head is peaceful and not commercialized - AND CLEANER. Also Pawleys Island or Kiawa in Charleston.
