No names were given in the Bible for the two thieves next to Jesus on the cross, but they are given the names Gestas and Dismas by the apocryphal text the Acts of Pilate. Gestas was the unrepentant thief, and Dismas is the one who asked for mercy. Dismas is an adaptation of a Greek word meaning "sunset" or "death". Dismas was also canonized by the Catholic church and is the patron saint of criminals, prisoners, and undertakers.

They weren't identified in the Bible. They were just two thieves. He saved one while He was on the cross.
