If you have had an allergic reaction it should have come up in several minutes to hours (I often find if I wash my hair at night and I have a reaction to the shampoo then the rash is there is the morning).
The distribution sounds like you may have eaten something ad perhaps rubbed your eyes while traces of the food were still on your hands.

The best thing for an allergy if it looks really red and is itchy is Piriton (anti-histamine). If you want to put cream on it then use a moisturing cream such as cold cream or a fragrance free moisturiser. Steriod creams are not to be recomended as they only should be used fro chronic conditions such as Exzema.

It should go in a few days, if you are worried about it then go see your doctor. If you can identitify what you are allergic to, remove the offending agent from everyday life.

You can type in rashes in your search engine and reach several medical sites that can help you, I've done it several times, but can never remember the site name, you can place a symptom and it will narrow it down to what you have, good luck
