i have taught him to sit by putting a treat in my hand covering it up kinda like a fist and pushing his but down, this works and once i get him to sit he will stay there untill you motion for him to come, biggest problem is jumping on people, and when i come home he runs straight for me 90 to nothing. i also have a fence (3 acers fenced for him) and a underground eletric fence and he still gets out to go play in the lake....

Ok well first deaf dogs can feel vibrations so get him used to looking at you when you tap your feet. when he looks at you treat him once he learns that focusing on you gets him a treat then he will look at you more. try using sign language for him bring your hand up for sit put your hand down for lie down. pat your leg for heel and put your hand in front of his nose for stay. If you need any help please feel free to contact me at littleprincess80909@yahoo.com I am a dog trianer in colorado and could find more info for you if you would like.

teaching a deaf dog is difficult, you´re never taking the leash off, are you? that´s really too dangerous. I´m sorry, my dog is not deaf so I´m not having any experiences but I learned that dogs are trained on sings like lifting your finger or clapping your hand etc.

If he is not blind, try to teach him hand movements/signals. I know that the Petsmart around where I live has very good training couses/classes, where they can teach dogs and puppys hand movements. good luck!
