Valentines is just around the corner and here i am alone, nobdy to hold me and whisper the sweeetest things........its not that i need a man to make me happy, its just that love is in the air on that typical day. Maybe i should turn off the radio on that day and read a book...or listen to Avril Lavignes Happy ENDING????????

Do what you do on any other day

Being single on Valentines day used to bother me but then a few years ago someone said to me if you've always been along on Valentines Day...shouldn't you be USED to it by now?

I about snapped at them no, but then I realized I should be. After all, all the day really is, is a marketing day made to sell stuff. There's nothing holy or historical that happened, it's just a day to make money on. Like St. Patricks day or some people MIGHT say Halloween, but others wouldn't.

I just treat it like every other day. So I'll get some candy from my friends and a flower or something.

There shouldn't have to be a day where you declare your love...or show someone how much they mean to you, besides your anniversary.

What every other single person does in the world...CURSE the day Valentine's Day was made until you finally meet someone. I always somehow broke up with my boyfriends before Christmas and Valentines and I cursed every day on Christmas and Valentines.

Honestly...

Why don't you celebrate being single on Valentine's Day and give yourself a card and splurge on the finest chocolate and treat yourself? It's called RETAIL THERAPY, go out shopping!

lol no dont do that! i dont have a valentine and i really couldnt care less. I mean if I did have one of course i would be happy, but it's not eerything. I know because of valentines it seems real depressing and what not just enjoy it, enjy the single life not worrying if he's out there doing something wrong behind your back.

Go for a walk on the beach, just get out on Valentine's Day and DO something for YOU.......... get your haircut or get your nails done, do something that makes you feel special!

This way it's possible for you to meet a guy who is lonely too, and I think the beach is a VERY romantic place!
Anyway, just PAMPER yourself on Valentine's Day!

Ask one of your Friends out to lunch and you can talk. Sometimes all of these ideas can help.

Just get out around people and you will feel better!

how about you rent some movies like....say hmmm..

Say anything.
"The movie that set the gold standard for teen romances, "Say Anything" stars John Cusack as Lloyd Dobler, an underachieving kick boxer with a tendency to wear his heart on his sleeve. Ione Skye is Diane Court, the brainy and beautiful valedictorian who has more award ribbons than friends. They meet, fall in love, and have to face some crazy hard decisions in a matter of months. You'll laugh ("Joe lies!") you'll sob ("I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen"), you'll watch it again and again. Warning: Lloyd Dobler may ruin you on any future romance: No real-life guy seems to measure up. He's the ultimate "sensitive guy."

Chasing Amy
Alyssa (Joey Lauren Adams) is everything comic artist Holden (Ben Affleck) has been looking for--smart, a fellow comic geek, and beautiful to boot. There's just one small hump to get over: she's a lesbian. In one of those "only happens in the movies" things, Holden gets his wish and he and Alyssa end up going ga ga for each other. Holden's jealous business partner Banky (drool-worthy Jason Lee) starts questioning their relationship and things go downhill when Holden can't handle his girlfriend's sexual past. Great dialogue and a brief but brilliant appearance by Jay & Silent Bob make this one of Kevin Lee's ("Clerks," "Mallrats") best.

I realize that I still have feelings for this person whom I was with last year. I am friends with her. It just happened, so I'm going for it. If I ruin it, I will not wonder what if. I know I did something and life continues.

That's my valentines solution...

I'd take this time to call the ones I love, and see how things are going. Something we don't do often enough due to life's twists and turns.
