What wine do you like to drink the best? Don't let some "wine snob" tell you what you should drink. Drink what you think is tasty.

Well, I'd agree that you should firstly choose something that you like.
Food and wine matching is mostly bunk because peoples perceptions of food and wine differ so much. Also, when you say 'lobster', much more depends on how it is going to be prepared. A creamy sauce will affect the wine matching much more that the lobster, however the classic wines for matching with lobster dishes is white Burgundy and Champagne.
Since white Burgundy is made from Chardonnay, a good crisp Chardonnay or methode champenoise sparkler from elsewhere would be suitable alternatives.
If you don't fancy Chardonnay, then how about Viognier or maybe even Sauvignon Blanc?

The rule that white wine/fish and red wine/ meat is one dreamt up by middle class nouveaus.Nevertheless with lobster it needs to be white or rose
The whole idea of choosing a wine that's going to accompany a specific dish is that the one should enhance and not clash with the other.
That said it's down to personal preference as to whether you like your white wines on the sweet/fruity side or dry and budget.
Personally I would go for a Chablis although to get a good one you'll find it expensive,so my choice for this would definitely be a Sancerre.
A good quality rose wine would be great as well but of these you need to be careful. Some (Rose D'anjou) are over sweet. Many of the Australian rose's are currently good if you can get a hold of one Geoff Merrill in particular

Try any white Bordeaux from 2001, especially from the Graves.
Champagne would work well, too.
One time I had a very strange pairing of lobster with a 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape, which oddly wasn't too bad. Go figure.

Champagne goes very well with it! And it's romantic too along with the lobster. Perfect pairing!
