I don't think so. I've heard people speak about dying and seeing the people in the room trying to help them ...and so on. I think that these people are just in a dream state and they are hearing what is happening around them.
I've heard some say that when they had this "out of body" experience they saw a great white light and angels. They also say how it usually was a wonderful experience.
I have never heard a Christian say they have had an out of body experience. It has always been some other faith.
The Bible speaks that once a person dies, they are immediately judged. They are immediately judged and sentenced to heaven or hell. So, the people I've heard from aren't Christians, they would immediately be sent to hell. A wonderful white light is not hell.
Also, about the angels. Everyone who has ever really seen an angel has fallen to their knees terrified. It was a terrifying experience.
So, people are in just a dream state I believe.

If the soul is interpreted as the eternal Universe which exists for ever and ever, the body is a physical manifestation of that Universe. People are coming and going into consciousness (birth and death) inside of the Universe. The soul doesn't go anywhere but it plays a game of hide and seek. People do however have out of body experiences, its a common phenomenon of the mind

Yeah. It happened to Paul.
Our bodies are just 'tents' that hold our souls, which is really who we are.
