well sometimes you have to be harsh, if your too nice to her then she'll get to thinking that the two of yous still have a chance.. If you have no intention of being with her then you need to make that very known and that means that you have to be a little mean in order for it to really sink into her head that yous will never again be together... Any shyness of being mean brings hope...

Sit down with him, face to face, across a table. Tell him that even though the two of you had something really great, that it is now over. Tell him you are not going to change your mind and although it hurts him, you are doing the right thing by being brutally honest. Then, walk away.

You have to accept the fact that some people can't take a hint. Tell her/him that you have decided to start seeing other people and you wish them luck in finding someone more compatible with them than you were.

Don't be a wishy washy person truthfull expression of your feelings don't give room for anything or any hope.
That is the least cruel. Sparing feelings hurts more cause it makes them think they still have a chance.

ugh.. this just happened to me last sunday. just tell her the truth. and answer her questions. there is no way to make her feel okay about it no matter what you say or do.. we dated for over 2 years and were eachtohers first. things were going okay. then he just ended it! oh well it will be his loss and it ill most likely be your loss as well.
but just be honest with her. doit face to face.

take her off to the side and say
"insert her name here, what we had was great while it lasted but now its over you and i both know it is......"
