It means do not judge unfairly. without the Court system, society will become a chaos.

'Let those without sin cast the first stone.'
We all make mistakes, and we shouldn't act holier than thou, and when a person accused of doing wrong, then the Court system is the place to Judge that person, not the common person. There is a place for everything, and everything has it's place.

We judge each others all the time, even by the way we dress.

You are confused because you are not taking the Word and applying common sense to it.
The laws of man are there to keep the order and peace, and the courts are there to judge whether the laws of man have been broken or not. God is not against a judge in the courts. Ruth of the Bible was a judge.
The reason there is a Bible in the courtrooms of today, is because they have been there since this Country founded its freedom. They are there because with a predominantly Christian Nation, to put your hand on a Bible meant you were going to tell the truth, and pledged that fact on God Himself.
Welcome to the Free Christian Nation called the USA., where all religions are welcome and free to practice and worship as they believe.

The type of judging the Bible teaches us not to do is the type of judgement of whether a person goes to heaven or hell, or the goodness or evilness of their souls, that is the judgement reserved for God, not us.
We must make judgements everyday on many different levels. If you didn't make a judgement that the con man was just that, you'd be in trouble. You judge not to do or participate in certain activities. So as you can see, judging is an important part of our everyday lives.

With the least amount of study -- one can see
that the type of judgement that the Bible is talking of when it says-- Judge not that ye be not judged---is spiritual judgement of others

It is clearly laid out within the Bible that there are to be laws, and judges to administer that body of laws !! It is quite distinct on the subject !!!

They are needed to judge if someone broke mans law.

The word in the Bible is speaking of Gods laws and means to condemn.
We are not to condemn people who we think violated Gods laws.
That is for God to do.

The Biblical judging you are referring to is to do with other people's morals. Courts are there to try offenders who breach the laws of any country - just as they were in Biblical times. Ever hear of the Sanhedrin?

That is a Misstatement of what Jesus said. We are not to judge a persons value as a person, or there worthiness to be forgiven. We are to judge between right, and wrong !

It does not teach people not to judge. It tells people they can judge if they judge themselves with the same standards.

Well the Bible talks about law and being obedient to those who are put in place to enact and enforce those laws. Althouth at times, such as now, that is very difficult to do.
