Yes it will thats why power co. use higher voltages across lines because they can use smaller lines.In which it increases voltage but cuts current or amps.for instance they use a 14400 volt line through a 60 to 1 trans.and the voltage is cut to 240 and you might have a load in your house of 60 amps in which means a 1 amp load on the line

I am not sure what a Inductor Transformer is but when a Transformer is used to raise or lower voltage the current also changes inversely. Twice the voltage - half the current, Half the voltage - twice the current.
