First of all, agnostics do not deny their spirit...they deny organized religion...or at least certain aspects of it...
It all comes down to a matter of belief...I myself am agnostic but I do believe in God...I believe that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but it is very difficult for some people to grasp an idea that is divided among so many different factions.
And each one ultimately becomes a eliteist amnongst itself...Going to church itself, while inherently good, has in many instances become a social clique (much like high school), where everybody does the same thing and where everyone tries to recruit someone else to belong.
Essentially saying that if you don't serve God "our way" then you are not serving God correctly.
Right or wrong this is how I see it, and others may have different reasons.

When will you people get it into your little heads that atheists and agnostics are not the same thing? Atheists don't deny their spirit because the flat out don't believe in one, nothing there, noting to deny. Agnostics don't deny their spirit, they just admit there is no way for us, as humans, to understand and characterize what spirit is. So in both cases you are wrong. It is people like you that show the most arrogance in being convinced that you know the exact nature of God, the Universe and everything and telling everyone else they will suffer eternal pain for not believing your arrogant assertions.

Define "spirit".
SPIRITUALITY does not depend on religion, or Christianity in particular. I've known three particularly spiritual people in my life: Two were atheists and one is a European Wiccan.
And atheists are not decievers. Quite the opposite...we tend to regard ourselves as having cast aside deception/delusion in favor of rationality and logic.

There is no proof of Jesus of Nazareth's divinity. There is no proof he is the child of a deity. If you can find his DNA code and show me he only has half of the required chromosomes human being have I may give it a second look.
I am spiritual and I have faith but not in some dusty old text; I have it in the person standing next to me. In the HUMAN race. That is real.

We who are not believers in a theocratic god do not necessarily deny spirit. It's all in the definition. The sense of awe and wonder at the amazing universe, the sense that we are part of something spectacular, the connectedness between ourselves and this universe, may be termed spirituality. But then, you probably wouldn't understand.

Just because I'm an antichrist doesn't mean I'm denying my spirit.
My spirit is MINE; it doesn't belong to some 2000-year old vampire carpenter from your silly storybook. Your religion is no more special than any other religion that has ever existed.

I don't deny my spirit. I acknowledge my spiritual self wholeheartedly. Every living thing is connected spiritually. I don't need the belief in a false entity to be spiritually fulfilled.

I am not an atheist but not a fundy either. What makes you think that by quoting the bible you will convert people that do not believe in the bible?? I never understood that. It's like saying Bilbo Baggins says ..... , so ya gotta believe.

agnostics don't deny in spritits, or "God" We jsut lack a belief. For example, with me, I was raised catholic, however there are so many things i find wrong about the religion i turn to other religions to try to "Belong" but in every releigion i turn to i find something to be wrong with it, at least in my opinion. so i believe there is a higher power.
