Right. By definition, God is Perfect.
"To err is human; to forgive, divine." etc.

God is tolerant up to a point. That is when every creature of his becomes evil living being. That was how he used the great flood to destroy all except Noah and his family and of course, the animals that came into the ark. Well, watch for another time when the whole world will again be purged of all the evil doers. The end times and when the people are subject to the control of Antichrist and the False Prophet and the Devil personally. Or read up the book of revelation for the answer. I hope this is a myth and if it is not, let's get prepared.

It is very interesting to me that I read your question. For just the other day I was thinking about how most people believe God is tolerant. I strongly disagree. Jesus Christ teaches love and forgiveness, but He also teaches intolerance of some things. Let me explain.
Let's look at John 8:1-11 to see how Jesus shows mercy and love while at the same time being intolerant of sin.
"Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”
“No, Lord,” she said.
And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

There's a lot in this story; but let's simply look at how the Son of God dealt with a immoral woman. He told her that He didn't condemn her, which meant that He forgave her. But if Christ was tolerant of sin He would have said, "I don't condemn you either, and hey, if you hurry I'll bet you can catch that guy you were comiting adultery with and pick up right where you left off!"
But that's not what Jesus did. He said, "Go and sin no more." Hence, He was saying, "I forgive you, but I will not tolerate your adulterous lifestyle. Stop!"
God is loving and merciful towards people, but He is intolerant towards willful sin and any beliefs that are opposed to His Word.

Who told you that God is tolerant? You need to know the entity of which you speak, my friend. Did Christ seem tolerant to you when he dumped over those tables of the money changers who were selling those dirty birds and making money in the Temple?
He went out and made a whip and was the example that if someone is doing something wrong, stand up for what is right and set them straight. period.
You have no knowledge of God or you would not have asked such a question. I have zero tolerance of someone who wants to destroy families, or blow up our Country, or rape children, or beat up women, or try to throw the Living God out of our communities.
If you are looking for a wimp religion, look elsewhere. Call us what you like, but we are children of the Living God, and will tolerate only what does not endanger us, destroy our land, or take away our God. Period. Don't like it? Move to Russia.

God is not tolerant. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that either Jesus was tolerant. In fact the opposite is true.

"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men." (Romans 7:11)

"You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot eat at the table of the Lord and at the table of demons. Are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than he is, are we?" (I Corinthians 10:21-22)

There are many, many other passages that talk about God having high standards, and that He is angry when people sin. He doesn't tolerate bad behavior, He abhors it.

He does however, love us. And because of His love for us, He gets angry when we indulge in sin. Just as a child who wanders into the street gets swatted for doing so, because of the parents' love for them, so too God gets angry when we wander into sin, or worse yet, revel in it.

Some may use the story of the woman caught in adultery as an example of Jesus excusing her sin. (John 8:1-11) The religious leaders were using her as bait, trying to trap Jesus in His words. But He knew they were being hypocritical, because it takes two to commit adultery, and they only brought the woman. After it was all over, Jesus told her that He hadn't condemned her, but added: "Go and sin no more." That last part seems to be lost on the modern world.

We should remember that God is angry with sin, and that He hates what it does to us. It causes our deaths. Sin is directed towards either Him, or other people in our lives. There is never a sin that affects the sinner only.

God is not some grandfatherly bearded dude sitting in His rocker in Heaven saying, "There, there, boys will be boys..."

Do not mistaken God's long suffering and patience with tolerance. You will be rather shocked at the judgment if you do.

That is correct, it does not need an explaination, It needs an answer, & I am going to give you an answer, & you can thumbs me down, That is fine, But at least you got your answer, I have always said my entire Christian Life which has been for 37 yrs. That God is a God of Love, & right there is where everyone tries to stop, It is true God is a God of Love, & you should be thankfull, because if God wasn't a God of love, you would have been gone a long time ago, But after a period of time, That God of Love, Everyone speaks about & after God gives mankind ample time to repent, & they refused to repent, Then that God of Love is also a God of Judgement, & a God of wrath. Now as far as the Christians, I have myself tolerated many athiests, agnostics, Unbelievers, Make-believers, & whatever is out here, & I have been All these years been tolerant in telling people about God, But after many years, my message is not that God is Love, (Of which he still is) But my testimony now to the people that God has given mankind ample time to repent, Now this world is headed for a Judgement & wrath from God, So in my 37 yrs of serving God, don't you think I can read the signs of the times & see Prophecies taking place, Once Christ opens that 7th seal in Revelation, That will close out salvation to the Gentiles, Christ is off the mercy seat & God Judgement & wrath is about ready to take place. Therefore, seeing what time we are living in, Yes, I still say God is Love, But my talking is not so much on that anymore, but it is on the coming judgement & wrath of God. And Israel is God's time peace. Now since I told you what is going on, How tolerant are you toward me.

Well for one your use of tolerance is vague, and second, you don't know the One True God, who is Holy and Just, who is the Righteous Judge of all the earth, Who Loves the world, but has provided a Savior for all men, in the man Christ Jesus who is also the LORD of heaven and earth. Tolerance, is a word used by those who are not the "in" crowd. Tolerance is a word that is defined by those who do not know God, and what He has done by sending His Son to die for your "intolerant" attitude, and all your sins, personal and being born of Adam's race. You speak of tolerance but what is your attitude defining - by "I don't need an explanation"

WHOA! What an attitude of intolerance!

It depends on your definition. By the apparent definition today, God is not tolerant. By the true definition He is.

Today it seems to mean that you can't tell anyone else they're wrong, you have to accept everyone's perferences as right. God calls sin wrong, and He tells us we have to accept the free gift of Jesus in order to get into heaven . Some call that discrimination, even though that free gift is offered to everyone. The definition is everything, and it is used wrongly in today's society.

God loves everyone and is willing to forgive everyone who asks and truly repents. That sounds pretty tolerant to me. But sin still is called sin and must be acknowledged.

God doesnt tolerate lies and sin. Other than that, people not following the word of God are not really following him.

http://www.gotquestions.org/do-not-judge.html

If a believer sees another believer sinning, it is their Christian duty to lovingly and respectfully confront the person with their sin (Matthew 18:15-17). This is not judging, but rather pointing out the truth in hope of bringing repentance in the other person (James 5:20). We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). We are to proclaim what God's Word says about sin. 2 Timothy 4:2 instructs us, "Preach the Word ; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction." We are to "judge" sin, but always with the goal of presenting the solution for sin and its consequences - the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

Who said GOD is tolerant? He sure is not tolerant of sin! Such as homosexuality, abortion, murder, lying, cheating, stealing, so why should his followers be? I will never be tolerant of these things, no matter how much society tries to brainwash me, it will never work, because I know the absolute truth through GODS word!
