Well depends whats your age. But if your older you try to bring the conversation in slowly, i would suggest to tell your mom first. When shes in a good mood and nothings going on in the family. But if you really like this guy tell them or even have a dinner or something at home or introduce him to your parents. But don't hide it and let them find out if they don't agree with boyfriends and stuff, or else they'll really not let you have one and prohibit you from going out and stuff. But if their cool parents and stuff they'll understand.

If you have any sibilings that you really trust telling them might be good- they might be able to give you advice or help you tell your parents. They'll also feel honored for being the first one you come to. If you don't have any sibilings, then ask the more open one of your parents what they would do if you had a boyfriend. If they say something like ground you for life, then you know that they're joking and you should just tell them then. It also helps to have a friend with you for support.

iv been in the same position, iv had 2 boyfirneds withouot telling my parents, but just dont make a big deal out of it..if you go up to them and say" we have to talk" it'll make it more awkward , when you come home from school just put a big smile on and say "guess what, I have a boyfriend!" and see what there reaction is.

Say the following:
You: "Hey Dad!?"
Dad: (Shaving) "What my little princess?"
You: "You know why I have not beem eating all my dinner at the dinningroom table?"
Dad: "Yes love! What is all that about? You usually eat like a starving pig, my princess."
You: "Well, I have met a friend. A male friend!"
Dad: "What? WHAT? GET OUT!! GET OUT YOU CHEAP TART! Get out of the bathroom before I cut your throat with my razor."
You: "But Dad??!"
Dad: "Don't answer me back or you'll feel the back of my hand. Get out and go to your room. You're grounded!"
Something like this might happen. Just a thought though!

I had a bf and didn't tell my parents, for a while, but then I told them that I was going out with him, and they were fine with it. just tell them that you and he have a lot in common and you really enjoy having him around, I am sure you parents won't disapprove if he is decent.

if your young and you are not suppose to have a boyfriend then dont tell them but on the other hand if you are old enough or a complete adult then tell them and if they dont want to except then thats their problem if your boyfriend makes you happy and you are old enough go a head and enjoy your life.

look at them and say "mom, dad., we need to talk. this is a very difficult thing for me to tell you, so please listen and think before you respond. I have been hanging out with this boy and we have gotten really close, so close that we consider ourselves 'going out'. I would appreciate it if you would support me with this desicion."
or...
you could write them a note.
