If you are needing this question for a geology class then i believe the answer you would need is 'Glacial till'.

The simple answer is - anything that gets in their way.

Usually it's rocks but on occasions when a glacier advances further than normal it can include trees, roads and even buildings. Many glaciers retreat and advance with the changing of the seasons and in some years they retreat or advance more or less than usual.

The term given to all types of glacial sediment is Till, the debris that's pushed along in front of a glacier is Terminal Moraine (sometimes called End Moraine). The stuff pushed out of the way and deposit at the side of a glacier is Lateral Moraine and Ground Morain is the stuff deposited underneath a glacier.

When two glaciers merge into one, the lateral moraine from the sides of the glaciers that merge becomes a line of sediment in the center of the merged glacier, this is called Medial Moraine.
