I agree, electric blankets just are not safe for toddlers. I've thought about the same thing though - I wish something could be invented to keep them a little warmer. We all know their blankets never seem to stay on. I usually just put an extra layer of PJs on my son during the cold months and don't turn the heat down as much at night. That's the safest route.

I live in New England and it gets very cold I have used Elc. blanket many times. And often asked myself the same question. . However I never did feel confortable about putting one on the children beds as they tend to leak thru there diapers, fold and bend the blanket; And did not want for any reason to find out the children have played with the controls and have a serious problem. So your answer from me is. I don't know except use your better judgement and ask the doctor what they think.

No it will raise their body heat. It is not safe at all. Thermal pj's with the footies.. those will work just fine.
**One of the reasons you may not hear a lot about injuries from electric blankets in small children is because most parents do not use them, but the dangers are real. If adults are too warm, we usually wake up and do something about it. Infants and toddlers do not necessarily wake up when they are too warm—and if they do wake up, they cannot do anything about the problem, and may suffer burns or become overheated before parents become aware of the situation. That's why blanket sleepers and jammies with feet were designed—to keep children warm without covers.

heating blankets are too much of a risk for shock and burns.. so i say no to them.. you don't want her to continue sleeping with, i understand that, put her in heavy sleepers, turn up the heat a little if her room is not getting enough heat then block off vents in rooms not being used this will help to flow of heat to the colder rooms..a warm water bottle helps to put at her feet problem with that is make sure it is leak proof and you may have to change the water a couple times a night to keep up the heat. you can pick one up at drug stores all over. heating pads are no good either for they can cause burns too. plastic her windows in her room so no outside air gets in. I hope some of these tips help.

Toddlers don't really have the ability to wake if they are getting too hot and there is the potential for burns.
I would try everything else first. Maybe a sleeping bag. Or two sleepers.
Or just get a heater and mount it on the wall where she can't get it.

Maybe turn the heat up in her room. I wouldn't use an electric blanket on a child.

It depends on how old the kitten is really, and where he would want to sleep. When my cat was a kitten he slept on my pillow by my head and was fine. But it can be dangerous because kittens like to snuggle next to warm things and may go up against your back and get rolled over.

No. I do not think that is a good idea. Just put some extra clothing on her when she goes to bed.
