This sucks. I previously planned to die my black asian hair burgundy but it failed. The burgundy does not show, so i preceded with bleaching it out, to lighten it a bit, but it turned reddish. Then I attempted to recolor it using ash brown, but the red still shows. The products I use in pathological order are Revlon Colorsilk in Deep Burgundy, Wella Blondoe Bleaching Kit and Gatsby Ash Mocha. This is definetely the worst bad hair day I ever had. Does anyone have any idea what to do with this?

Every time you redye or lighten it, you're destroying the hair shaft and making your hair less cooperative to recoloring it. Anytime you do a bogus at-home color job, the best thing is to go to the professionals. Ask your girlfriends (who's hair you like) who their colorist is and make an appointment. At this stage, there may be nothing else you can do for the time being except wait it out, or buzz it off and start all over again. For future reference, let a professional colorist work with you. Black hair has so many different undertones that it takes someone who knows what they're doing to get the color you desire. Semi-permanent color process is more expensive than a box of color, but look how much time and money you've spent trying to correct the problem! Make an appointment and let the colorist recommend a repair process. Believe me, I've had my share of badly done home jobs, and every time I berate myself for not going in and spending the $40 plus tip to have it done correctly.

When ever you lighten dark hair it generally tend to pick up red tone you can try to get a color corrector if you hair looks brassy from the beauty supply. I would not keep putting more chemicals on your hair until you have deep conditioned it other wise you could end up with breakage. Bleach is very damaging to your hair, they do sell tones if your hair looks really bad that do not contain peroxide and could tone it down a bit.

ussually there is a customer service line listed on the packaging. If you call this number and speak to one of their people they are the most liekly ones to be able to get you to a color you can live with.

Sadly, you cannot dye black have without lighting it. You will have to let it grow out. I suggest for something as big as that, see a professional, you are only making it worse. Good Luck.
