Is culture hindrance for global unity for taking united action to save the world?

A man said long ago that Kingdom would fight against Kingdom, and nation against nation.
I take the term nation to mean culturally ethnic groups. As most every culture has a habit of telling themselves they are better than everyone else, yes I agree that culture is a part of the catalyst against world peace.

the world can't be saved. People don't want to sacrifice anything to make tomorrows world better. Politicians just want to get re-elected not do anything.
