You see a rise in homosexuality in other species populations when they begin to grow to large to sustain themselves. The human population is beginning to grow too large to sustain itself and lo and behold we are seeing a rise in homosexuality.

Personally it makes sense that this is an evolutionary fail-safe... but if you believe that god is in control of everything wouldn't it make sense that god is behind it?

That a very interesting theory, "Homosexuality, Nature's Birth Control"

It's got a nice ring to it.

Of course you do know you are going to get a whole lot of folks saying "Oh, Hell No, it doesn't work that way!" Me, I smile and ask, how do they know? They don't.

They can postulate, and sermonize, and bluster, but in the end, they really don't know, and the fact that they really don't know scares them. Think about it, the very idea that Nature/God might have chosen them to be gay is awful frightening to people who think of homosexuality as an abomination or a genetic deficiency, instead of just being one of the normal possibilities of human existence.

For the bible crowd, you are always saying that "God" gave man free will, thus man has free will to `Go against what "God" may have planned for you'.

For those taking the scientific route, the fact that man is an independent thinker means we are not limited to natural biological controls, we invent things, otherwise we would have been killed and eaten by predators long ago.

Considering the social taboos in some countries, even if you were homosexual, it's much safer to "Play Straight" if you want to continue breathing.

"Population super-homeostasis."

Use that phrase, it's less likely to have some people frothing at the mouth while secretly being titillated at the forbidden thoughts they get when you say the word "homosexuality".

*wink*

It's not a bizarre idea that in a self-regulating open system that non-reproductive variations would increase in order to limit population growth.

Some peple have said it's a wacky theory but I disagree.

it's interesting that homosexual behaviour isn't seen in animals unless they are forced to live in higher density areas. (This coincides with the idea that there are more gays in the city than rural areas.) So it really could be nature (you would say God's) way of controlling population.

And then of course if you believe in intelligent design, you would have to say god designed homosexuality.

Many homosexuals have children via surrogates. And many heterosexuals don't have kids at all. Nevermind the fact that you first have to prove that god exists before you can prove that he or she is behind any kind of population control.

Absolutely not; homosexuals are a fiction. There are none. This is a myth perpetrated by the gay and lesbian community. And don't try and tell me that there are queers and dikes, either. And even if there are, that isn't proof of anything.

Remember son, God made man in his image; god is not a homosexual; therefore, no homosexuals. Further, this is proof that I did not fondle little Johnie during choir practice.

yours truly,
Rev. Jones

PS, if this is true, shouldn't there be a lot of gay people in india; what about Japan where they are majorly overcrowded?

god is in control but he gives men the right to choose. it is clear in the scriptures that it is against god to practice homosexuality. romans 1 24-28. there is also no evidence of god wanting to control population, it is another case of a sinful man going outside of what is good and natural from god and twisting it into a lie. we need a savior today friend and that savior is jesus christ.
